Heritage Days huge success!!!
Received donations, support, met lots of animal lovers, gave out lots of info especially on FeralStat-birth control for cats.
Next event probably Allegany County Fair. Will need lots of helpers to cover booth for a whole week so call us if you can help.

So many cats and kittens needing homes, we are
WAIVING ADOPTION FEE 6/15/09-7/15/09.
We will gladly accept a donation to help the cause.

We have 12 kittens ready to go and 7 working on it so come visit and pick out your companion soon. We will still give 3 day supply of food to get you started and we give all of them vaccines anyway unless too young for rabies(12 weeks) and then will help when ready.

Will get list updated in next few days.
Thank you for visiting us on our website.

WELCOME TO CARI

CITIZENS ANIMAL RESCUE INC

A NONPROFIT, 501C3, NO KILL CAT RESCUE

LOCATED IN CUMBERLAND, MD

AT PRESENT, WE HAVE 73 CATS AND KITTENS IN HOUSE

AND 12 FOSTERED, INCLUDING,FIV, FELV, FIP, CH, & BLIND

WE DO NOT CAGE OUR CHARGES, BUT GIVE THEM AN ENVIRONMENT

AS CLOSE TO A HOME AS POSSIBLE

THEY RUN AND PLAY AND SLEEP WITH US AND IN A SUNROOM

COME GOOD WEATHER, WE PLAN TO BUILD OUTDOOR RUNS

WE FEED FRISKIES CANNED AM AND PM.

AND FREE FEED 9-LIVES DAILY ESSENTIALS DRY

WE PREFER SCOOPING LITTER, BUT HAVE HAD TO GO TO

WHITE CLAY LITTER DUE TO COSTS

WE ADMINISTER 4-IN-1 VACCINES INHOUSE AS NEEDED

AND PREFER REVOLUTION AS OUR FLEA PREVENTATIVE,

HOWEVER, AGAIN DUE TO COSTS &

ALSO TO KEEP TO NATURAL SOURCES WHEN POSSIBLE,

WE USE FOSSIL FLOUR INTERNALLY AND EXTERNALLY

ALL OUR ANIMALS RECEIVE RABIES SHOTS,

AND ARE SPAYED/NEUTERED AS SOON AS THEY ARE OLD ENOUGH

AS THE NO KILL IMPLIES, WE DO NOT EUTHANIZE

UNLESS THERE IS NO ALTERNATIVE.

MOST OF OUR FELV AND FIV POSITIVES DO NOT SHOW ANY SYMTOMS

AND LIVE A NORMAL LIFE.

THE ONES WHO DO PRESENT WITH SYMPTOMS ARE TREATED

WITH BOTH NATURAL AND PRESCRIBED MEDICATIONS

TO KEEP THEM COMFORTABLE AND PAIN FREE.

WE ENCOURAGE VISITORS, THOUGH WE DO REQUEST APPOINTMENTS

TO MANAGE CARETAKING DUTIES. THE BABIES NEED TO MEET

DIFFERENT PEOPLE AND AGE GROUPS TO BE BETTER PREPARED FOR THEIR NEW FAMILIES.

WE WISH WE DIDN'T HAVE TO REQUEST AN ADOPTION FEE,

BUT THE COSTS OF CARE HAVE EXCEEDED OUR FUNDS,

SO WE NOW REQUEST A $40.00 ADOPTION FEE.

WE PREFER THAT THE ADOPTEE BE TRANSPORTED IN A CARRIER FOR THEIR SAFETY,

AND WILL LEND THE USE OF ONE IF NECESSARY.

PLEASE BROWSE OUR LIST OF KITTIES AVAILABLE

AND CHECK OUT OUR OTHER PAGES FOR WAYS YOU CAN HELP

WITHOUT COST TO YOU AS WELL AS SPONSORSHIPS AND DONATIONS.

THANK YOU FOR VISITING OUR SITE TODAY

AND PLEASE HAVE A GREAT DAY !!!!!
