Mouse
Mouse was adopted by a nice elderly lady after losing her husband. Lady called once and said Mouse stayed under bed. We told her to give it a few days and if things didnt get better to call us. Six weeks later, she called and said Mouse could hardly walk, could I come. Mouse had lost 1/2 her body weight to 5 lbs, her eyes were gooed shut, she looked terrible. We rushed her to the vet, but it was too late. She passed away that night. We are sick at heart that Mouse had to go through that, but glad she is at the bridge now and not hurting anymore.

Itty Bitty Jr
Itty Bitty was euthanized Monday after a brave fight against Feline Infectious Peritonitis. He had presented with a swollen abdomen and Dr Hentzel sent a sample of the fluid away for testing. It ca,e back compatible with FIP. He was put on Trental and Prednolozone to help his appetite and keep him comfortable. The swelling went away a week ago and so did his appetite and energy. Monday, he was lying by the radiator to keep warm and when I picked him up, he started purring, but he couldnt hold his head up. Checked his eyes and they were cloudy, so sadly told John we should take him in so he wouldn't suffer. Itty Bitty had been with John over 9 years. He is sadly missed.

Dusty
Dusty is one of my personal cats, rescued from the animal shelter with his brother Lucky. He tested positive for FeLv last summer and began a slow decline. Despite meds and supplemental feedings, poor Dusty continued to lose weight and catch multiple infections. He was euthanized today and sent on where he could feel whole again and be happy. We will miss him terribly.

Pudge
Pudge came to us from John Polley's colony in Ridgeley. She had been 15 pounds, but kept losing weight. At firdt we thought maybe it was the change in location and missing John, but it became apparent that something was seriously wrong. The vet treated her for coccidia and other parasites and infections to no avail. Finally, we had her do exploratory surgery with biopsies. Nothing came clear from this or x-rays or ultrsound or bloodwork. All were inconclusive. Her best guess was FIP. We brought her home and loved her lots and gave her vitamins and viralys and nutrical. I also gave her diarrhea medicine. As long as I did all this and fed her 2 syringes or more of formula, she seemed to do pretty well for a couple months. Then she stopped eating and started to cloister herself in an away area. Two days later she died in her sleep. We really miss her sweet face and her love, but we are glad she is in a better place now and we'll see her when its time.

Rainbow Bridge
By the edge of a wood, at the foot of a hill, is a lush green meadow where time stands still. Where the friends of man and woman do run, when their time on earth is over and done. For here, between this world and the next, is a place where beloved creatures find rest. On this golden land, they wait and they play, till the Rainbow Bridge they cross one day. No more do they suffer, in pain or in sadness, for here they are whole, their lives filled with gladness. Their limbs are restored, their health renewed, their bodies have healed, with strength imbued. They romp through the grass, without even a care, until one day they start, and sniff the air. All ears prick forward, eyes dart front and back, then all of a sudden, one breaks from the pack. For just at that instant, their eyes have met. Together again, both person and pet. So they run to each other, these friends from long past, the time of their parting is over at last. The sadness they felt while they were apart, has turned into joy once more in each heart. They embrace with a love that will last forever, and then side by side they cross over ...together. Author Unknown
